How To Measure For Your New Blinds

How you take your measurements will vary depending upon where you would like to fit the blind within the window opening.

Ideally use a steel tape measure and state all sizes to the nearest millimetre.

Recess

Inside the window opening.

Width - Measure the inside width of the window at the top middle and bottom. Use the narrowest width measurement.

Height - Measure the height of the window at the left, centre and right. Use the longest height measurement.

We will deduct 10mm off the width of the blind to ensure the blind operates perfectly within the window recess.

Exact [outside recess]

Outside the window opening, overlapping the window recess, exact blind size.

Width - To minimize light leakage it's recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess on the width by least 40mm each side.

Height - When measuring the height take into account the required space for the mounting bracket. A flat surface of a minimum 70mm above is required. The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.

As every Autumn Wood Blind is custom made to your exact requirements. Once made, our products are suitable only to you, and therefore cannot be resold. Because of this it is extremely important that you are sure about the product you want and also the size you require. We recommend that you double check any measurements and if you are in any doubt please contact our customer services help line on 0870 756 2916.
